MANILA - Former senate president Juan Ponce Enrile appeared before the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division Wednesday to sign the pre-trial order (PTO) for his 15 cases of graft and one count of plunder stemming from his alleged involvement in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.

After the signing of the pre-trial order, which contains the actions taken during pre-trial conference as well as facts stipulated by the defense and prosecution and pieces of evidence marked, the court scheduled the start of the graft trial on February 11 and 12, and the Tuesdays and Wednesdays thereafter.

Aside from 95-year old Enrile, his co-accused including former chief of staff Gigi Reyes also signed the PTO for graft.

The alleged brains behind the scam, plunder convict and former businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, was not able to sign the PTO for “health reasons.” She is currently serving her sentence at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.

The graft and plunder cases of Enrile, filed in 2014, lagged behind other PDAF scam cases as his lawyers filed several manifestations before the Sandiganbayan and the Supreme Court.
