MANILA - The Department of Justice (DOJ) has set a hearing for the reinvestigation of the case involving the abduction of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo, in compliance with an Angeles trial court order.
The hearing on the complaint for kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention is set on February 3, at 2 p.m.
Subpoenas were sent to the following respondents: - Supt. Rafael Dumlao, team leader, PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) - SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel - SPO4 Roy Villegas - SPO4 Ramon Yalung - PO2 Christopher Baldovino - Gerardo Gregorio Santiago (retired policeman), owner of Gream Funeral Parlor - Christopher Alan Gruenberg, owner of one of the vehicles used in the abduction - Jerry Omlang, a supposed NBI "runner/errand boy"
Subpoenas were also sent to Senior Superintendent Glenn Dumlao, PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) acting director; and two of his men, SPO3 Reynaldo Curampez and PSI Jonathan Rabanal.
Jee's wife, Choi Kyungjin, and their househelp, Marisa Dawis Morquicho, were also summoned to attend the hearing.
A case for kidnapping for ransom with homicide was already filed before the Angeles trial court against Sta. Isabel and several of the respondents but Sta. Isabel's plea for a reinvestigation of the original complaint filed with the DOJ, kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention, was granted by the presiding judge.
Complainant AKG meantime filed a motion to implead additional respondents led by Supt. Rafael Dumlao.
