<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/02/10/basyang-animated.gif"/></figure></div>MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - Tropical storm Basyang continued to threaten Caraga early Tuesday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said.In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Basyang&#x27;s center was last seen 175 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.It had maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gusts of up to 80 kph.Basyang was expected to move west northwest at 25 kph.Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains were expected over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Lanao del Sur over the next 24 hours. Bicol region, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Mindanao will experience scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains.Tropical cyclone warning signal no. 2 was raised over the following areas:-Agusan del Norte -Agusan del Sur -Bohol -Camiguin -Dinagat Island -Misamis Oriental -Negros Oriental -Northern section of Bukidnon -Siquijor -Southern Cebu -Southern Leyte -Southern Negros Occidental -Surigao del Norte -Surigao del SurMeanwhile, tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 remains hoisted over the following areas:-Aklan -Antique -Biliran -Capiz -Compostela Valley -Cuyo Island -Davao del Norte -Davao Oriental -Eastern Samar -Guimaras -Iloilo -Lanao del Norte -Lanao del Sur -Leyte -Misamis Occidental -Negros Occidental -North Cotabato -Palawan, including Calamian Group of Islands -Rest of Bukidnon -Rest of Cebu -Rest of Negros Occidental -Samar -Southern portion of Eastern Samar -Southern portion of Samar -Southern section of Masbate -Zamboanga del Norte -Zamboanga del Sur -Zamboanga SibugayBasyang was expected to make landfall in Caraga region Tuesday morning.<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/02/10/passenger1.jpg"/></figure></div><div>STRANDED PASSENGERS</div>In the port of Cagayan De Oro, around 158 passengers were stranded because of the tropical storm.The passengers are bound for Cebu, Bohol, and Manila, according to the Philippine Ports Authority.Jurylie Pacturan, public information officer of PPA, said they are coordinating with the shipping companies to provide food to stranded passengers.In Nasipit, Agusan Del Norte, the PPA listed 43 passengers who are still staying in the port following Sunday&#x27;s cancellation of trips.One of the passengers, Juliet Locson of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, is worried they might not still be able to travel in the next few days.Basyang was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday afternoon. - with reports from Angelo Andrade and May Diez, ABS-CBN News<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/02/10/basyangpagasa.png"/></figure></div>Visit the <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/weather">ABS-CBN Weather Center</a> for the latest weather updates.
