Magnitude 4.8 quake jolts Davao del Sur

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/02/17/quake.jpg"/></figure></div><p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATED) </strong>- A magnitude 4.8 earthquake was recorded in Davao del Sur Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.</p><p>It was originally recorded at magnitude 4.4 but was later upgraded to magnitude 4.8.</p><p>The epicenter of the tremor, which was tectonic in origin, was located 4 kilometers southeast of Magsaysay town in Davao del Sur, at a depth of 17 kilometers.</p><p>The tremor hit at 9:03 p.m. It was felt at Intensity IV in Magsaysay, Matanao and Digos City in Davao del Sur, and in Malungon, Sarangani.</p><p>It was also felt at Intensity III in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur, Kidapawan City, Koronadal City, Tampakan and Tupi in South Cotabato, and in Alabel, Sarangani.</p><p>The earthquake was also felt at Intensity II in General Santos City, Columbio, Bagumbayan and Isulan in Sultan Kudarat; and in Norala, Surallah and Lake Sebu in South Cotabato, while it was felt at Intesity I in Magpet and Arakan in North Cotabato, and in Kiamba and Maasim in Sarangani.</p><p>Instrumental intensities were also recorded in the following areas:</p><p>Intensity III - Koronadal City, Tampakan, South Cotabato; Alabel, Sarangani<br/>Intesity II - General Santos City<br/>Intensity I - Kiamba, Sarangani</p><p>Phivolcs said Wednesday&#x27;s earthquake is an aftershock of the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Magsaysay town last Feb. 7.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/02/07/21/magnitude-63-quake-rocks-davao-del-sur">Magnitude 6.1 quake rocks Davao del Sur</a></li></ul><p>No damage nor aftershocks are expected from this earthquake, Phivolcs added.</p><div><strong> RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/B_XhsOq7IbM?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div>
