Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA – Several senatorial aspirants on Sunday said they would promote youth empowerment through education and laws for the family.During the &quot;Harapan 2019: The ABS-CBN Senatorial Town Hall Debate,&quot; senatorial candidate Jesus Caceres said the Sangguniang Kabataan should not be abolished as it will help train the youth to be leaders.Melchor Chavez said someone who has a heart for the youth should be elected in the Senate, while Emily Mallillin wants the youth to go back to using &quot;po&quot; and &quot;opo&quot; as a sign of respect.Charlie Gaddi, on the other hand, wants to push for training for the youth, especially in technology.Luther Meniano said helping unmarried couples get married is his way of working for the family and the youth.Allan Montaño, for his part, said pushing for regularization will benefit the youth, especially since they are usually the victims of contractualization and unfair labor practices.Both Jonathan Baldevarona and Gerald Arcega said they will push for education for the youth.Jose Matula said he will support student and youth groups and train them to become future leaders.Marcelino Arias believes the youth should look up to adults and follow the example of their parents.&quot;Tingnan ninyo ang halimbawa ng inyong mga magulang, at &#x27;yung mali, huwag ninyong gayahin. At &#x27;yung tama, &#x27;yun ang ipamuhay ninyo,&quot; he said.Shariff Albani also believes the youth should have moral and spiritual respect so they can be good leaders in the future.&quot;Regarding sa mga kabataan, kayo po ang future generation ng bansa na ito, kami mawawala din kami, kayo na ang susunod na magiging lider sa bansa. Ang hinihingi lang namin, alam namin, matalino kayo kaysa sa amin, pero yung moral and highly spiritual respect, sana magkaroon sa mga kabataan ngayon,&quot; he said.
