It’s too much of a waste not to distribute,” he said in a news conference in Malacañang.Roque has also been criticized for allegedly using his position to prematurely campaign for his possible Senate bid by going around the country to hold press briefings.“I don’t think so. What I do know is journalists all over the country appear to be very appreciative,” he said of the allegation.Roque served as a party-list representative in the 17th Congress before taking on the role of President Rodrigo Duterte’s mouthpiece.He also once served as a human rights lawyer, taking the cudgels for various marginalized groups.However, he has been criticized for taking the job as the spokesperson of the President, who has been criticized domestically and internationally over some of his policies such as the war on drugs and downplaying of the Philippines’ maritime dispute with China.
