If the impeachment complaint against President Duterte does not prosper at the House of Representatives, the Magdalo Party will instead go to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Magdalo Party-list Representative Gary Alejano, who is seeking Duterte's impeachment, said he is ready to go to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In a press conference in Bacolod City, Alejano said they are prepared for any outcome, including the dismissal of the impeachment complaint against Duterte.

Alejano said they will continue to hold the President accountable.

Besides the allegations of extra-judicial killings and secret bank accounts, Alejano said he will also look into the Scarborough Shoal and Benham Rise issues as possible bases for impeaching Duterte.

Alejano also denied allegations that Vice President Leni Robredo had a hand in the impeachment complaint he filed against Duterte.

He said the Liberal Party has nothing to do with his complaint.

While Duterte's allies in Congress say the complaint will not prosper as the opposition lacks the numbers, Alejano said Duterte's camp should not be so confident.

"Meron na hong nag-signify sa akin na sasama sa impeachment complaint. They just have to read the impeachment complaint. So that if ever they will be asked by media, they would know exactly what to say because they have inspected, they have checked the impeachment complaint," Alejano said.

Alejano expects these congressmen to announce their support soon.

"Ngayon po ayaw ko lang pangunahan itong miyembro ng Kongreso o mga partido. Hayaan na natin sila magkaroon ng panahon," he said.
