MANILA - The number coding scheme in Metro Manila will be suspended on Holy Wednesday at 10 a.m., the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Tuesday.

The number coding scheme was shortened to allow the public to leave for their respective provinces before the rush hour, said MMDA Assistant General Manager Jojo Garcia.

The number coding scheme is expected to resume on April 2, after Easter Sunday.

The executive and the judiciary earlier announced that they would implement a half-day work schedule on Holy Wednesday to allow government workers, court personnel, and public school students to prepare for the Lenten break.
