MANILA - A special election will be held for representatives of the two new legislative districts in Southern Leyte in November, or 6 months after the May 13 midterm polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has said.In a resolution dated March 25, Comelec said the incumbent representative of the lone legislative district of Southern Leyte will continue to represent the district until noon of June 30.The election in the province for senators, party-list representatives, provincial, city and municipal elective offices will proceed on May 13.In February, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act 11198 reapportioning Southern Leyte into two legislative districts<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/02/04/19/duterte-signs-law-splitting-s-leyte-into-two-legislative-districts">Duterte signs law splitting S. Leyte into two legislative districts</a></li></ul>The first legislative district is composed of Maasin City, Macrohon, Padre Burgos, Limasawa, Malitbog, Tomas Oppus, and Bontoc. The towns of Sogod, Libagon, Liloan, San Francisco, Pintuyan, San Ricardo, Saint Bernard, Anahawan, San Juan, Hinundayan, Hinunangan, and Silago comprise the second legislative district.
