<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/news/04/10/041017-quake.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc"><cite>Phivolcs handout image</cite></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>A series of strong aftershocks struck off the southeastern Philippines after a magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit off Davao Oriental Monday night.</p><p>The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the main earthquake occurred 147 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental at a depth of 54 kilometers at around 6:38 p.m.</p><p>It was felt at only Intensity I in Alabel, Sarangani.</p><p>At least 9 other aftershocks hit, with the strongest measuring magnitude 5.1. </p><p>Phivolcs did not issue a tsunami warning and does not expect any damage from the series of earthquakes in the area.</p>
