Duterte keeps 'very good' net satisfaction rating: SWS

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte maintained his "very good" net satisfaction rating in the first quarter, as growing support in his bailiwick Mindanao offset a decline in Luzon, according to results of an opinion poll released on Monday.

Duterte got a net satisfaction rating of +63 in Social Weather Stations' survey of 1,200 respondents from March 25 to 28, unchanged from December last year. The score qualifies as "very good," the second highest in the SWS's scale.

Net satisfaction is the difference between the satisfaction and dissatisfaction scores. In the most recent survey, 75 percent said they were satisfied with the President, 12 percent were dissatisfied and 12 percent were undecided.

Duterte's net satisfaction score declined 9 points in Luzon to +51 in March from +60 in December. In Mindanao, he gained 13 points to an "excellent" +87 from +74.

Nearly 8 in 10 Filipinos trust Duterte and approve of his performance, according to a Pulse Asia poll last month.

The survey was conducted after Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano sought to impeach the President over killings allegedly linked to his war on drugs.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said Duterte was inspired by the survey results.

"We value this public trust, and will continue to work hard to serve the best interests of the people - and fulfill the vision of a nation worthy of the Filipino people," Abella said.
