<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/news/04/27/20170123-duterte-asean-mnib-18.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">President Rodrigo Duterte, in his keynote speech during the launch of the Asean 2017 Business and Investment Program at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace on January 24, 2017. <cite>Rolando Mailo, Malacanang Photo</cite></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA - In his first time to host an international summit, President Rodrigo Duterte will fete leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in a gala dinner inspired by vibrant Philippine fiestas, Malacañang said Tuesday.</p><p>The celebration, which will be held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay Saturday, is set to &quot;showcase our innate hospitality and joei de vivre as a people,&quot; the Palace said.</p><p>&quot;The guests will be treated to various fanfares from the moment they enter the hotel up to the time they leave the venue,&quot; organizers said in a statement.</p><p>&quot;It will be very festive and colorful, depicting a sense of community, harmony and togetherness, just like how we are at ASEAN.&quot;</p><p>Attending the festive dinner are some 800 guests, including 10 ASEAN leaders, their spouses and delegations, as well as top Filipino officials.</p><p>The regional leaders and their spouses will don attires inspired by Mindanao, the President&#x27;s home island.</p><p>Fashion designer Rhett Eala created the costumes for the Asean leaders&#x27; spouses and Myanmar de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi, said Presidential Social Secretary Annalyn Tolentino. There was no immediate information on who designed the attires of the Asean leaders.</p><p>Duterte&#x27;s guests will be served &quot;the best of Filipino cuisine,&quot; Malacañang added.</p><p>Some 200 performers will entertain them with a 25 to 30-minute cultural presentation.</p><p>This week&#x27;s ASEAN summit is the first of the semi-annual summit.
