Fire hits Cafe by the Ruins in Baguio

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/sports/04/30/043017_fire.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">Fire hits Cafe by the Ruins in Baguio City. <cite>Photo courtesy: Reymart Maneclang Canuel</cite></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA (UPDATED) - Fire broke out at the Cafe by the Ruins, a popular restaurant in Baguio City Sunday. </p><p>The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started at 12:04 p.m. and had reached second alarm.</p><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/edgiemedz/videos/1613223645355346/" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Sgt. Frederic Calama of BFP-Baguio said there were people eating in the restaurant when the fire broke out. </p><p>No one was hurt as the customers and the staff were able to get out immediately, Calama said. The blaze was put out around 12:50 p.m. </p><p>According to SFO3 Nelson Duagan, the fire started at right side of the restaurant&#x27;s roofing, which is made of cogon.</p><p>Duagan said iron works from an adjacent building or a cigarette butt thrown by a construction worker may have caused the fire.</p><p>He said the BFP-Baguio is still awaiting word from the owners of the building. </p>
