Handout</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA (UPDATE) - The Philippine National Police Counter Intelligence Task Force arrested the police chief of Agoncillo town, Batangas as part of an anti-carnapping operation along J.P. Laurel highway in Barangay Mataas na Lupa, Lipa City.Police Capt. Jayson Aguilar was caught driving the stolen vehicle along with Patrolman Mark Dimaano.According to task force spokesperson Police Lt. Col. Renante Lambojo, the owner of the Toyota Vios filed a complaint last year.Since a global positioning system (GPS) was installed in the car, the complainant was able to locate the lost vehicle in Agoncillo Batangas Municipal Police and Batangas Provincial Police Office (PPO).&quot;A series of surveillance ang nangyari dito, na inabot ng 1 month mahigit. Gumalaw ang sasakyan, nakita sa Batangas Provincial Police,&quot; Lambojo said.&quot;Nag-abang ang mga tropa, nag baka sakali sa Batangas PPO, kung gagalaw &#x27;yung sasakyan. Fortunately, ginamit ang sasakyan at ang occupants nu&#x27;n, agad-agad na-flag down ang tropa. Lumalabas pulis ang gumamit ang sasakyan, police chief ng Agoncillo.&quot;Lambojo said the car&#x27;s color was originally white but repainted in black, and that the chassis number was tampered.Aguilar said the car was lent to him by another police officer. An investigation is ongoing.&quot;Sabi niya may nagpahiram pero hindi naman niya sinasabi kung sino ang pulis na nagpahiram sa kaniya,&quot; Lambojo said.Authorities also found an unlicensed firearm in Aguilar’s possession.The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 10883 or the New Anti Carnapping Law, RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act, RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard for Public Officials and Employees and Gun Ban of the Omnibus Election Code.
