President Duterte is set to decide today the fate of Metro Manila under lockdown. But Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque already said some parts of Metro Manila may remain under enhanced community lockdown after May 15.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is continuing to rise with a debate raging on whether the country has flattened the curve. Black propaganda
The presidential communications team has disowned a series of social media posts that blamed the network for its current franchise woes. The posts, released by the little-known National Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTFELCAC), also accused the network of violating its franchise. The posts were already shared by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) condemned the posts calling it “black propaganda” and called for accountability.

Tax avoidance
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Caesar Dulay said that “many, almost all” Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) have not settled their tax payments. Deputy Commissioner Arnel Guballa warned POGOs to comply or face denial of their permits to resume their operations.
