MANILA -- Sen. Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III said Tuesday any result would be "acceptable" to him, as he stayed in the potential winners' circle with 94 percent of votes counted by the Commission on Elections transparency server.
Pimentel was in the 10th spot with 14,068,221 votes. Twelve Senate seats are up for grabs in the midterm vote, with President Rodrigo Duterte poised to have more allies in the chamber.
"I will be happy if I make it. Any result is acceptable to me," Pimentel told ABS-CBN News.
Pimentel, a bar topnotcher who worked as a law professor prior to joining government, added, “There is life outside of politics too. Service to the country can also be done in the private sector.”

The son of former Sen. Aquilino "Nene" Pimentel Jr is also president of Duterte's PDP-Laban party.
