#HalalanResults: Revilla not top Senate bet in bailiwick Cavite

Ramon &quot;Bong&quot; Revilla failed to get the highest number of votes for senatorial candidates in his home province, Cavite. </p><p>Revilla landed in the 8th spot in Cavite with 577,818 votes, according to a tally by the Commission on Elections that has counted 99.73 percent of the votes as of 5 a.m. Wednesday. </p><p>Reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe led the senatorial race in the vote-rich province with 895,761 and 813,094 votes, respectively. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/05/15/cavite1.png"/></figure></div><p>Villar also topped the overall national race with a total of 24,674,368 votes, while Revilla was at 10th place with 14,260,073 votes, based on the partial and unofficial tally. </p><div><strong>WIFE, SON WIN IN CAVITE </strong></div><p>Revilla&#x27;s family has served in Cavite in various capacities in the last 2 decades. </p><p>His wife Lani Mercado dominated Monday&#x27;s mayoral race in Bacoor with 141,848 votes against the 18,903 votes of her rival Jose Francisco. </p><p>Revilla&#x27;s son Jolo ran unopposed as vice governor of Cavite and got 1,035,513 votes so far. </p><p>Meanwhile, Revilla&#x27;s brother Strike was unopposed as representative of the 2nd district and secured 141,465 votes. </p><div><strong>HOW OTHER CANDIDATES FARED </strong></div><p>Some of Revilla&#x27;s rivals topped the Senate race in their own turfs. </p><p>Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos was the top senatorial candidate in her home province, where her son Matthew ran unopposed as governor. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/05/15/ilocos.png"/></figure></div><p>The opposition slate Otso Diretso, meanwhile, led the race in Naga, Camarines Sur, hometown of their supporter, Vice President Leni Robredo. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/05/15/naga.png"/></figure></div><p>Candidates backed by Hugpong ng Pagbabago, on the other hand, dominated the race in Davao City, where regional party&#x27;s leader Sara Duterte-Carpio was reelected as mayor in a landslide win. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/05/15/davao1.png"/></figure></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/05/15/davao2.png"/></figure></div><p><br/>Click <a href="https://halalanresults.abs-cbn.com/local/quezon-city">here</a> for ABS-CBN&#x27;s election results. </p>
