'Ambo' makes 5th landfall over Burias island; Signal No. 2 raised in Metro Manila

<div class="article-content" itemProp="articleBody"><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OlEqIYpasKg?enablejsapi=1"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="https://www.iwant.ph">iWant</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>MANILA - Typhoon Ambo slammed into Burias island 3 a.m. Friday, bringing strong winds and heavy rains as it made its 5th landfall so far over the eastern Philippines, state weather bureau PAGASA said.</p><p>The typhoon, which was packing maximum sustained winds of 125 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 165kph, earlier made past landfalls over San Policarpo, Eastern Samar; Dalupiri Island, Northern Samar; Capul Island, Northern Samar; and Ticao Island, in Masbate.</p><p>PAGASA said Ambo, with international made Vongfong, is forecast to move towards Ragay Gulf before making landfall again over the Bondoc Peninsula in Southern Quezon by Friday morning.</p><p>Tropical cyclone wind signals (TCWS) have been raised over many parts of the eastern Philippines and Luzon.</p><p>Metro Manila, the nation&#x27;s capital which remains under lockdown because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, is under TCWS No. 2.</p><p>The typhoon&#x27;s eye was last spotted near Claveria, Masbate as of 4.a.m Friday., moving northwest at 15 kph.</p><p>No casualty from the typhoon has been reported so far by local authorities, as of 5 a.m. Friday.</p><div><strong>Heavy rainfall expected</strong></div><p>Aside from typhoon-strength winds, moderate to intense rains are expected Friday over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, and Marinduque, according to PAGASA.</p><p>&quot;Flooding and rain-induced landslides may occur in highly to very highly susceptible areas during heavy or prolonged rainfall,&quot;
