MANILA - Only specific areas or villages in Metro Manila may remain under an enhanced community quarantine if the strict lockdown in the capital region is lifted after May 31, the chairperson of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) said Friday.Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said that based on studies of the Department of Health, the council decided that areas that have recorded new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and clusters of positive infections will remain under lockdown.&quot;Para po naman ang ating ekonomiya ay tumakbo, para magkaroon ng hanapbuhay &#x27;yan without sacrificing our health procedures na ginagawa sa partikular na lugar,&quot; he told ABS-CBN&#x27;s TeleRadyo.Olivarez said precautions will still be observed in villages or areas with zero infections.&quot;&#x27;Yun pong ating mga problematic na mga barangay, dun po tayo magkakaroon ng concentration para ma-hold at ma-augment yung pagdami at pagkaroon ng new cases dun po sa particular na barangay na &#x27;yun,&quot; he said.He said the MMC is waiting for approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases before they implement the protocol.Metro Manila is currently under modified ECQ, which is expected to end after May 31.
