MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Court of Appeals Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting as Supreme Court Associate Justice.

Inting will take the slot vacated by now Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin. He bested 12 others in the shortlist submitted by the Judicial and Bar Council in February.

Inting graduated from the Ateneo de Davao University and served as corporate attorney for the National Housing Authority Government Corporation in 1983 and supervising staff assistant at the then Intermediate Appellate Court in 1984.

He also served as a Quezon City prosecutor in 1995 before being appointed as presiding judge of the Quezon City Municipal Trial Court in 1998.
