MANILA - Actress and social media influencer Kris Aquino on Wednesday hinted at a possible foray into politics.

This, as she attempted to end a word war with Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson over the latter's recent Facebook post she found offensive because she felt it disrespected her late parents.

The actress said she would pray for the "best" thing to do given her large social media following—around 1.5 million on Facebook and 3.5 million on Instagram.

"Paano ko ba magagamit 'yang boses na yan dahil nakikinig kayo sakin?" she said in a Facebook live video where she made her supposedly final response to Uson.

(How will I use that voice given that you listen to me?)

Uson drew Aquino's ire for posting a video of the latter's father, Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr., receiving kisses from two women before he was assassinated in 1983. She posted it in defense of President Rodrigo Duterte's recent "playful" kiss with a married Filipina in South Korea.

Citing how her live video on Tuesday got nearly 5 million views, Aquino said: "maybe my voice matters."

"I have contracts that prevent me from running, contracts that I just signed but maybe we need a voice," she said.

"I'll pray. I will pray about what is best for me to do," she added.

Aquino, however, noted that maybe it would be better for her not to seek a government post so the public would continue to listen to her.

"Pero baka mas maganda na hindi nga ako humingi ng posisyon, hindi ako maging elected official para patuloy niyo 'kong pakinggan," she said.

(Maybe it would be better for me not to ask for a post, not to become an elected official so that you will still listen to me.)

"Kasi 'pag naging parte na ako ng Senado sasabihin niyo naging kagaya lang ako nila. Eh ngayon pantay-pantay lang tayong lahat," she added.

(If I become part of the Senate, you will say that I am just like them. But now, we are all equals.)

Aquino is no stranger to politics with both of her parents having served in government, her slain father as a senator and an anti-Marcos leader, and her late mother Corazon Aquino as the country's democracy icon and first female president.

Her brother Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was Duterte's predecessor.

In the 2016 elections, she campaigned for bets of her brother's party, the Liberal Party.
