<figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0oUFn8Gt6AA?enablejsapi=1"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATE)</strong>— A low pressure area or brewing storm will dump rains over vast swaths of Luzon and Visayas, which are still under varying levels of virus quarantines, the state weather bureau said Thursday.</p><p>The weather system was spotted 65 kilometers east northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte at 10 a.m. and may strengthen into a tropical depression in 24 hours, said PAGASA.</p><p>The brewing storm will move northwest and reach the northern Quezon-Aurora area on Thursday night or Friday, PAGASA weather forecaster Rob Gile told ABS-CBN&#x27;s Teleradyo. It will be the second storm to hit the country after Typhoon Ambo (international name: Vongfong).</p><p>The LPA is enhancing winds from the southwest, which will bring moderate to heavy rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo islands, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Western Visayas, PAGASA said in its 1 p.m. advisory.</p><p>Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will lash the rest of Visayas, the rest of Palawan, and Central Luzon, it added.</p><p>Prolonged rains can spawn floods and landslides, warned the weather agency.</p><p>The brewing storm will likely move northwest towards the Quezon-Aurora area and may cross Polillo Island later Thursday, according to PAGASA weather specialist Joey Figuracion.</p><p>It is forecast to make landfall as an LPA or tropical depression over southern Aurora-northern Quezon between Thursday night and Friday morning, he added.</p><p>The weather disturbance will likely intensify into a tropical storm over the West Philippine Sea as it leaves the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X2lkNNOX6xU?enablejsapi=1"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>The LPA will come as authorities examine whether or not quarantine restrictions in Metro Manila, the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, could be downgraded further on June 16.</p><p>Metro Manila and other urban centers were placed under GCQ or general community quarantine on June 1 after 11 weeks under a strict ECQ or enhanced community quarantine.
