A Quezon City councilor is asking the local government of Quezon City to suspend the implementation of parking fees at the city hall parking building pending the approval of internal rules and regulations.

Right now, Quezon City Hall employees are using the parking building for free. But the new ordinance, as partly authored by QC District 1 Councilor Alex Herrera himself - the SP-2676, S-2018 or the Ordinance Imposing Fees For The Use Of Quezon City Hall Parking Building - will require a 50 pesos daily fee for employees, and 30 pesos for the first three hours and 10 pesos each for the succeeding hours for non-employees.

In his privilege speech during the session of the 20th City Council, Herrera said that despite having the ordinance approved, they still lack a monitoring system. Moreover, the parking building has yet to be turned over to the QC government.

The executive headed by incoming Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte asked Herrera’s office to submit a copy of the privilege speech for review.
