MANILA – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday said it will start releasing plates registered from July 01 to Oct. 31, 2016 on the first week of July.

The plates are already being distributed to LTO Regional and District Offices, which will then release the plates to the owners, the agency said in a Facebook post.

“The LTO will release the available vehicle plates simultaneously nationwide by first week of July,” LTO Asec. Edgar Galvante said.

The agency inaugurated its own Plate Making Plant last April. As of June 18, a total of 387,000 pieces of vehicle plates have been produced, the LTO said.

“We are continuously finding ways to enhance the plate production capacity,” he added.

However, Galvante urged owners to wait for the notification by the LTO to avoid wasting time going to local offices “only to get disappointed.”

Meanwhile, the production of motor vehicle plates is still pending upon the approval of the bill proposing a different-sized plate, he said.

“We will produce the motorcycle plates as soon as Congress gives the go signal,” Galvante assured.
