31 barangays in Manila to be placed under 48-hour lockdown this weekend

<figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WT33fch2a5o?enablejsapi=1"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>MANILA - The local government of Manila City on Tuesday announced it will be placing 31 of its barangays under a 48-hour enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in said areas.</p><p>Through Executive Order No. 31, Mayor Francisco &quot;Isko Moreno&quot; Domagoso is placing the identified 31 barangays under hard lockdown from 12 a.m. of Saturday, July 4, until 11:59 p.m. of Sunday, July 5, &quot;for purposes of disease surveillance, verification or testing and rapid risk assessment&quot;.</p><p>The Manila Health Department said there are a total of 147 positive COVID-19 cases in the said barangays.</p><p>The barangays placed under ECQ are as follows:</p><div><strong>District 1</strong></div><ul>	<li>Barangay 20</li>	<li>Barangay 41</li>	<li>Barangay 51</li>	<li>Barangay 56</li>	<li>Barangay 66</li>	<li>Barangay 96</li>	<li>Barangay 97</li>	<li>Barangay 101</li>	<li>Barangay 106</li>	<li>Barangay 116</li>	<li>Barangay 118</li>	<li>Barangay 120</li>	<li>Barangay 128</li>	<li>Barangay 129</li></ul><div><strong>District 2</strong></div><ul>	<li>Barangay 163</li>	<li>Barangay 173</li>	<li>Barangay 180</li>	<li>Barangay 185</li>	<li>Barangay 215</li></ul><div><strong> District 3</strong></div><ul>	<li>Barangay 275</li>	<li>Barangay 310</li>	<li>Barangay 343</li>	<li>Barangay 380</li></ul><div><strong>District 5</strong></div><ul>	<li>Barangay 649</li>	<li>Barangay 724</li>	<li>Barangay 766</li>	<li>Barangay 775</li>	<li>Barangay 811</li></ul><div><strong>District 6</strong></div><ul>	<li>Barangay 836</li>	<li>Barangay 846</li>	<li>Barangay 847</li></ul><p>Of all the barangays, Barangay 343 in District 3 logged the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 13, followed by Barangay 20 in District 1 with 10 cases.</p><p>During the said period, residents of these barangays are required to be strictly confined within their residences, except for health workers, police, military and government workers rendering emergency frontline services, service workers, barangay officials and media workers.</p><p>&quot;Station commanders of police stations in the said barangays are hereby directed to employ and deploy officers and personnel in strategic locations and areas necessary for the effective implementation of the ECQ,&quot; Domagoso&#x27;s order reads.</p><div><strong>- with a report from Jeffrey Hernaez, ABS-CBN News</strong><br/> </div>
