Enrile curses as Sandiganbayan junks bail plea of former aide

<p>MANILA - <strong>(UPDATED) </strong>The Sandiganbayan has junked the motion for bail filed by lawyer Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes, the former chief of staff of former senator Juan Ponce Enrile, in connection to the plunder case she faces for her alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.</p><p>In a resolution penned by Associate Justice Bernelito Fernandez, the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division said it denied Reyes&#x27; motion for bail for lack of merit. It also said that the anti-graft court finds the evidence against Reyes to be strong. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/news/07/01/20180701-enrile-bail.jpg?ext=.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Reyes is accused of facilitating the release of Enrile&#x27;s priority development assistance (PDAF) funds to bogus non-government organizations set up by Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged scam mastermind.</p><p>Enrile allegedly pocketed P172.8 million in pork barrel kickbacks after funneling his discretionary funds to Napoles’ fake NGOs.</p><p>In an interview with ANC Sunday, the 94-year old former Senate President cursed after hearing the anti-graft court&#x27;s decision.</p><p>&quot;What kind of justice do we have in this country. Sayang lang &#x27;yung ginawa namin nang magrebolusyon kami para tumino &#x27;yung bansa na ito. Gigi Reyes is innocent of the charges against her.
