MANILA (UPDATE) - The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday it has ordered the seizure of all Cosmic Carabao Gin products in the market after its samples were found to contain high levels of methanol.

"[The] FDA shall seize and/or confiscate all Cosmic Carabao Gin products available in the market," the FDA said in an advisory.

The FDA also reiterated that the Cosmic Carabao Gin has no certificate of product registration.

The agency reminded consumers to "exercise extreme caution in buying alcoholic drinks, especially those that do not have labels, poorly printed labels or with broken seals."

FDA office-in-charge Eric Domingo earlier said he received a report from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute that one of the victims had methanol poisoning.
