MANILA - Vice President Leni Robredo has no personal knowledge of the investigations conducted by her late husband, Jesse, during his stint as secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Robredo was asked for her reaction on recent social media posts claiming that her husband was investigating Police Director Joel Pagdilao before he died in a plane crash in August 2012.

Pagdilao, former chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), was one of the five police officers recently tagged by President Rodrigo Duterte in the illegal drug trade.

"Ako, hindi ko alam. Alam ko na may mga iniimbestiga siyang mga issues, pero hindi ko alam kung kabahagi dun si General Pagdilao," Robredo said.

She added she also has no knowledge if Pagdilao was one of those who attempted to enter their condominium unit a day after the plane crash.

Former DILG Undersecretary Rico Puno, along with several police officers, allegedly tried to enter the Robredos' condominium unit, where the former interior chief kept confidential documents.

According to the former congresswoman, she was still "managing [her] sanity" at that time so she decided to just turn over all of her husband's documents to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

"Ang sa akin lang nun, hindi pa nila nahahanap ang katawan ng asawa ko, so yun ang nakaka-consume sa amin. Parang sinabi ko nun, I don't want to have anything to do with that, inaasa ko sa authorities na sila ang magaayos nun," Robredo said.

"Parang at that time, I was managing my sanity di ba? I was managing my sanity. Parang sinasabi ko, wala akong pakialam diyan. Basta ang sa akin, ang pakialam ko yung mga anak ko maayos, yung katawan ng asawa ko mahanap.

"Hindi ko na din siya sinundan after," she added.

The Vice President admitted that whatever investigations her husband handled may be of help to her and the current administration.

But she said: "Ako, oo. Pero ang akin kasi, sigurado ako na yung nangyari sa asawa ko aksidente."
