Habagat may unleash heavy rains over parts of Luzon until Sunday

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="RAMMB/US NOAA/Himawari 8" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/news/07/14/07142023-heavy-rains-expected-over-parts-of-luzon-until-sunday.jpg"/><figcaption><em>RAMMB/US NOAA/Himawari 8</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATED)</strong>— Parts of Luzon may experience heavy rains until Sunday due to the storm-enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.</p><p>Some 50 to 100 mm of rain will fall over La Union and Pangasinan until Saturday afternoon, PAGASA said in its 11 p.m. bulletin.</p><p>The southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical depression Dodong was projected to bring gusty conditions over the following areas: </p><ul>	<li>Friday and Saturday: Areas in Ilocos Region not under any wind signal, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas</li>	<li>Sunday: Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the southern portion of Quezon.</li>	<li>Monday: Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, and Antique</li></ul><p>Other parts of the country may experience isolated or scattered rain showers or thunderstorms.</p><div><strong>SIGNAL WARNING</strong></div><p>Dodong was last sighted 150 km northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, packing winds of 55 kilometers per hour with 70 kph gusts.
