Joanna Tacason, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Nagbabala ang Provincial Health Office sa lalawigan hinggil sa leptospirosis, isang sakit na maaaring makuha sa paglusong sa baha.Mag-iisang linggo nang binabaha ang lugar ni Helen Villamil dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan na sinasabayan pa ng high tide sa Barangay Pogo Chico sa Dagupan City. Dahil dito, nakabota siya tuwing lumalabas lalo’t marumi ang tubig.Sa tala ng health office, 26 kaso na ng leptospirosis ang naitala mula Enero. Lima na ang nasawi dahil sa sakit na mula sa leptospira bacteria na nakukuha sa ihi ng daga at iba pang hayop gaya ng baboy.Mabilis kumalat ang bacteria na humahalo sa tubig baha at posible rin sa naipong putik.“Sintomas nito ay trangkaso kaya inabisuhan na ang ospital na &#x27;yung mga pasyenteng may sintomas, i-treat or test na for leptos,” sabi ni Dr. Anna de Guzman.Nakapagtala ng mataas na kaso ng leptospirosis sa Dagupan City, Binmaley, Pozorrubio, Rosales at San Fabian.Karamihan sa mga biktima ay mga magsasaka na nagbababad sa putik at sakahan.Pinapayuhan rin ang publiko na huwag mag self-medicate at agad na magtungo sa City Health Office o ospital kapag makaramdam ng sintomas nito.Libreng ibinibigay ang prophylaxis o gamot laban sa leptospirosis sa mga health center.
