MANILA - Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's first full day of freedom was spent in St. Luke's Medical Center for a comprehensive check-up.

According to her close friend, former Solicitor General Agnes Devanadera, Arroyo was discharged from the hospital before 3 p.m. Friday.

Arroyo entered St. Luke's Thursday evening after she was released from detention at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).

Her freedom came two days after the Supreme Court (SC) ruled to dismiss her plunder case involving P366 million in Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confidential and intelligence funds.

"Some tests were done last night and the others were done today. Some of the results of her tests are not yet in. But as for her blood works, her cholesterol is remarkably high which bears watching," said Devanadera.

Some of the tests conducted on the former chief executive, now congresswoman of Pampanga, were ECG, EMG, X-ray, 2-D echo, blood chemistry, Devanadera added.

Arroyo does not have any public schedule yet after her check-up but she is expected to attend the opening of the 17th Congress on Monday at the Batasang Pambansa.

An ally of Arroyo, former Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo, went to the hospital supposedly to see the former president, but he missed her by a few minutes.

Pelayo told reporters her cabalens in Pampanga await Arroyo's return.
