President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday reiterated that people should not worry about his declaration of martial law in Mindanao because he does not intend to extend his term.

"I do not intend to go beyond my term. As a matter of fact, mas gusto ko nga na barilin ako doon sa likod. Hindi masyado akong bilib sa trabahong ito. Akala ko bilib ako. Pagdating ko, ah l*ch*. Sakit ng ulo," he said during his 2nd State of the Nation Address.

Duterte said he being a chief executive is a difficult task and that he does not gain anything from the position.

"I do not collect anything. I do not remember, I do not sign anything there until now. Wala akong allowance, wala akong tinatanggap, lahat, except my salary. Tapos dalawang pamilya pa ang maghati," he said.

Duterte earlier he doesn't need the presidency at this time in his life.

The President first declared martial law in May. Congress on Saturday heeded Duterte's call for an extended martial law in Mindanao amid the long-drawn conflict between state troops and Islamic State-linked terrorists in Marawi City. Martial rule will be implemented until December 31.

"Alam niyo 'yang martial law...sabihin niyo na hindi niyo ibigay, okay lang. Wala akong problema diyan. Maski sabihin niyo na tama na, okay lang. I will still fight. The way I will fight a war. If it is not acceptable to the normal of civilian conduct, then I am sorry. Because I am not fighting a civilian war, I am stopping violence and rebellion. Ibigay niyo naman o hindi, bale sa akin, wala," he added.
