Ipo Dam releases water Sunday noon due to heavy rainfall

<p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATE) </strong>- Ipo Dam in Bulacan conducted spilling operations on Sunday noon due to heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, the state weather bureau said.</p><p>The dam&#x27;s water level was at 101.3 meters, as of 12 noon, up from 100.56 meters at 7 a.m.</p><p>In its 1 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said the dam&#x27;s water level is expected to continue rising due to heavy rainfall induced by the habagat.</p><p>The Ipo Dam management conducted its spilling operation at 12:29 p.m., with an approximate discharge of 40.8 centimeters.</p><p>Residents in low-lying areas and those near the riverbank of Angat River from Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel and Hagonoy were advised to stay alert for possible increase in the water level downstream, PAGASA said.</p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">IPO DAM Situationer as of 9:00am 25 July 2021 <a href="https://t.co/pdZ51nSy2y">pic.twitter.com/pdZ51nSy2y</a></p>— PAGASA-DOST (@dost_pagasa) <a href="https://twitter.com/dost_pagasa/status/1419102344197726213?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 25, 2021</a></blockquote><div><script async="" src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charSet="utf-8" type="text/javascript"></script></div><p>Typhoon Fabian, which left the Philippine area of responsibility late Saturday, will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon this week, PAGASA said.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/25/21/3-dead-5-hurt-due-to-habagat-rains-to-continue-this-week-officials">3 dead, 5 hurt due to habagat; rains to continue this week: officials</a></li></ul><p>The storm was last estimated 640 kilometers north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (outside PAR), moving north at 15kph while packing maximum winds of 140 kph near the center and with gusts of up to 170 kph, according to PAGASA&#x27;s 5 a.m. bulletin.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/overseas/07/25/21/china-braces-for-typhoon-in-fa-as-it-cleans-up-flood-damage">China braces for Typhoon In-Fa as it cleans up flood damage</a></li></ul><p>In its 11 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon will bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan.</p><p>Metro Manila, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Calamian Islands are expected to experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains, it added.</p><p>&quot;Occasional gusty winds will be experienced, especially in the coastal and upland localities of these areas.
