<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/news/08/03/duterte-meets-misuari-2.jpg?ext=.jpg"/><figcaption>President Rodrigo Duterte meets with Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chair Nur Misuari at the Malacañang Palace in August 2017.</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday made another gesture of peace to Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chair Nur Misuari after announcing that he has signed the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).The BOL is the product of the government’s years of negotiations with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), a breakaway faction of the MNLF.The President on Thursday announced he has signed the BOL, a measure that will grant greater autonomy and political power to the Bangsamoro people in Mindanao.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/26/18/duterte-signs-bangsamoro-law">Duterte signs Bangsamoro law</a></li></ul>“I’d like to talk to Nur kung unsa gyud so that we can have it by the end of the year,” Duterte said in a speech in Zamboanga Sibugay.Duterte said he could also give Misuari “autonomy… if that is what he wants and pending the federal system implementation.”The President also asked Misuari to choose the path of peace.“Nur, if you are my brother, Nur, if you are listening, I would like to thank you. Narerendahan mo ang puwersa mo (you are able to control your forces). Let us talk because we are old, and fighting is no longer an option for you and for me,” he said.Misuari’s MNLF faction is against the proposed Bangsamoro law and wants government to honor the 1996 final peace agreement. The pact led to the creation of the current Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), of which he served as governor. Misuari’s group has said the peace agreement has yet to be fully implemented.
