George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA - Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Tuesday said he will put up a “hate wall” to encourage Manileños to stop vandalizing and defacing government establishments and statues in the capital.Manileños should stop defacing monuments because these are reminders of heroes who gave us the things we enjoy now, Moreno told reporters after spotting a vandalized statue near the Liwasang Bonifacio.&quot;Punta sila sa&#x27;kin. Bigyan ko sila ng hate wall where they can express themselves,&quot; Moreno said.&quot;Doon na lang tayo. Puwede naman natin pag usapan &#x27;yun,&quot; he added. The mayor said he has yet to launch a crackdown against vandals in the city.The local government also has no plans to hike fines against those who deface public properties.&quot;Sayang naman &#x27;yung oras kung puro aresto kami. Baka mas maganda kung makisuyo na lang kami,&quot; he said. &quot;Mas maganda siguro kung makakatulong namin ang taumbayan sa kusang disiplina. I don&#x27;t see any joy or happiness you will receive just messing up the walls, especially &#x27;yung mga estatwa.”Moreno warned Manileños that he would not go easy on those who would deliberately vandalize properties despite his appeal.&quot;“We are firm, don’t get us wrong. We are firm but we are just trying to be diplomatic at the start,” he said.&quot;I’m not after the penalty.
