39 Taguig cops sacked after kidnap-extortion incident

Guillermo Eleazar said all 39 policemen from Western Bicutan&#x27;s community precinct 1 were relieved, including their head, Senior Insp. Joel Villafania.</p><p>Initial investigation revealed 4 police officers from the Western Bicutan station allegedly raided a woman&#x27;s house on Monday night and took P50,000 from her. </p><p>A few hours later, the suspects allegedly abducted a couple just past midnight. They released the woman and asked for P200,000 in exchange for the release of her partner.</p><p>Taguig police and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) operatives conducted an entrapment operation after the victims reported the crime to authorities.</p><p>The suspects allegedly resisted arrest during the operation, forcing authorities to fire back, killing one PO1 Heraldo Ancheta in the process. </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p dir="ltr" lang="tl">TINGNAN: Pulis na sangkot umano sa kidnap for ransom, napatay matapos makipagbarilan sa tropa ng PNP SWAT sa Taguig; 3 iba pang sangkot na pulis, arestado <a href="https://t.co/SnInVruHF0">pic.twitter.com/SnInVruHF0</a></p>— Henry V.
