In a video testimony recorded by the Parojinog family, the survivor Cesar (not his real name) claimed that he saw police throwing grenades and shooting Mayor Parojinog and his wife. Pagdating nina mayor doon inipon kami... ako nakadapa sa harap ni Mayor. Nagulat ako maya-maya lumabas ang mga pulis hindi ko alam ano ang dahilan, maya-maya may naghagis ng granada, tinamaan ako,&quot; Cesar said. Nimfa (not her real name), a relative of the Parojinogs who recorded Cesar&#x27;s testimony said, &quot;Sabi kasi niya, nagtaka siya bakit lumayo ang mga pulis. Tapos, bigla na lang silang ginulungan ng granada. Pumutok, pero hindi iyon yung dahilan ng pagkamatay ng pagkamatay nila. Cesar also claimed that he said he saw police shooting Mayor Aldong and his wife at close range. &quot;Bumalik ang mga pulis, tiningnan nila, binaril nila yung tita ko, &#x27;yung asawa ni mayor, ewan ko kung binaril. Sabi ni mayor, &#x27;wag naman ganyan, sir.&#x27;&quot; &quot;Pagkakita ni board member na parang babarilin na si mayor, nilapitan niya parang niyakap na lang niya, yun na nga binaril ata si board member. Tapos namatay na, tapos binaril si mayor, &#x27;tas hinagisan na sila ng granada,&quot; Nimfa said. <figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C3F76uPWhHQ" width="560"></iframe></figure> Espenido said they could not say for sure if the Parojinogs were shot at close range since it was dark when the incident happened. “Sa pagbaril kasi &#x27;yung nangyari, palitan ng putok ano. Madilim na sa loob, pagkatapos may narining pa na pumutok. Ang sa akin siguro, pinaka the best &#x27;yung result ng SOCO. Malaman naman talaga ng SOCO kung ano ang distansya nga, baril ba o shrapnel ang naka-kwan ng grenade. Basta &#x27;yung time na yon, volume of fire, masabi natin na palitan talaga ng putok. Hindi tayo makapagtantsa. Hindi tayo makabigay kung close range yung nangyari,” he said. Cesar said he survived the ordeal when he placed the slain mayor blood on his body and played dead until rescuers came after 3 hours. Espenido, meanwhile, said they turned over the place to the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to check for survivors. “Ibinigay na namin sa tao ng CIDG na magse-search. Sila na mag-search, ibinigay naming iyung place sa kanila, sila na ang nag-asikaso doon kung may nasugatan. Sila na din ang mag-evac sa mga survivors,” he said. Espenido urged Cesar to tell the truth. “Sa nangyari siguro ewan ko kung makapagsabi pa siya, madilim, may usok pa. Kami nga may mga flashlight, mahirapan kami magtingin… siguro maganda naman kung magsabi sya kung ano talaga. Magsabi siya kung ano-ano. Nahirapan nga ang police pagpasok. May usok na, brownout pa,” he said. The PNP Crime Laboratory has completed the autopsy on the bodies of the Parojinogs. Seven out of the 15 casualties have yet to be autopsied. Of the 15 cadavers, 13 underwent paraffin tests, except for Mona Parojinog and Susan Parojinog.
