Joanna Tacason, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Umabot na sa 23 ang bilang ng mga batang naitalang nagpositibo sa hand, foot and mouth disease mula Hunyo hanggang Hulyo ng taong kasalukuyan, ayon sa City Health Office.“Minomonitor namin iyong mga iyon and then tinitingnan sa ibang lugar kung may cases na rin. Kasi ang problema natin mabilis kumalat,” ayon kay Dr. Ophelia River, ang city Health officer ng Dagupan City.Ang sakit ay sanhi ng coxsackievirus at nakukuha sa maruming paligid at mabilis makahawa sa iba. Karaniwang tinatamaan nito ay mga bata. Sintomas ng sakit ay ang pagkakaroon ng blisters o singaw sa palibot at loob ng bibig, kamay at maging sa paa. May sore throat at lalagnatin din ang pasyente.Ayon sa Department of Health Region-1, aabot sa 79 ang kumpirmadong kaso ng hand, foot, and mouth disease sa rehiyon.Nilinaw naman ng ahensiya na hindi ito nakukuha sa hayop gaya ng foot-and-mouth disease. Hindi rin nakamamatay ang sakit pero pwedeng makahawa sa pamamagitan ng laway, pagbahing at direct skin contact. Paghuhugas ng kamay at pagpapalakas sa resistensiya sa pamamagitan ng pagkain ng mga prutas at gulay ang ilang paraan para makaiwas sa sakit.
