MANILA- Here&#x27;s your chance to cover presidential activities. The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will begin allowing netizens to cover events of President Rodrigo Duterte, with the establishment of the PCOO Social Media Office. The new Social Media Office will be responsible for the dissemination of information and &quot;actively engage public as part of participatory governance&quot; on social media, according to the department order released Wednesday.The PCOO said Filipino citizens aged 18 and above, with a following of at least 5,000 in any social media platform can apply for accreditation free of charge.Accreditation however will be on a per event or activity basis unless expressly specified, the PCOO said.The order covers social media practitioners defined as people who maintain a &quot;publicly-accessible social media page, blog, or website, which generates content and whose principal advocacy is the regular dissemination of original news and/or opinion of interest.&quot;The PCOO however may suspend or withdraw the accreditation on cases of abuse of rights and privilege.Those who are interested can apply for accreditation at the <a href="http://pcoo.gov.ph/">PCOO website</a> and will be subject to the clearance of the Presidential Security Group as well.
