CAMARINES SUR - Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Thursday that Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson should be more careful following the controversy over her "pepedederalismo" video.

"I think our secretary should be more circumspect siguro with her actions because she already is a government official," she said in an interview in Camarines Sur.

The video uploaded on Uson's Facebook page, which shows blogger Drew Olivar cheering for federalism using references to female body parts while doing a lewd dance, drew flak not just from social media users but also from several lawmakers.

Duterte-Carpio acknowledged Uson's intention of raising awareness on federalism, but said that the messaging needs fixing.

"But tama naman 'yung gusto nila na mapalaki 'yung campaign ng federalism. Siguro 'yung messaging lang ayusin," she added.

Duterte-Carpio attended an oath-taking ceremony in Camarines Sur Thursday for youth environmental organization El Verde Youth for Climate Action.

Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte chose Duterte-Carpio as the guest of honor of the ceremony after the local government of Davao City helped the province when it was struck by typhoon Nina in 2016. - report from Rona Nuñez, ABS-CBN News
