Paul Kristian Fil Darang/NPPA IMAGES</div></figcaption></figure></div>MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald &#x27;&#x27;Bato&#x27;&#x27; Dela Rosa on Tuesday said the PNP&#x27;s inability to handle the training of its own personnel is a challenge to the police force.Dela Rosa told a Senate hearing that currently, police training is being handled by the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), which is under the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.&#x27;&#x27;[That is] another challenge we want the Senate to address - the control of PNP over training of personnel. We would like to inform you na PNP lang ang police agency sa mundo na hindi nagte-train sa kanyang police,&quot; dela Rosa said.Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he has already filed a bill seeking the transfer of administrative and operational control over PNPA to the PNP.Senator Panfilo Lacson, a former police chief, brought up the matter of police training after noticing that newbie cops are the ones who usually get involved in shenanigans.&#x27;&#x27;Iyung ating recruitment program, as it appears, nakita natin, mga PO1 [Police Officer 1], PO2 (ang naiinvolve sa mga kaso). Leo Leuterio said 81 PO1s, 42 PO2s, and 48 PO3s are currently being investigated for wrongdoing.
