MANILA - The number of illegal drug users and pushers who have voluntarily surrendered to the police has reached over 626,000, from July 1 to August 30, as the administration continues to wage war against illegal drugs.Of the 626,368 voluntary &quot;surrenderees,&quot; 585,304 claimed that they are using illegal drugs, while the remaining 41,064 admitted that they are illegal drug pushers.The National Police Commission also revealed on Tuesday that as of August 30, 895 suspects have been killed during drug operations, while 12,920 others have been arrested.<div>UNRELENTING WAR</div>But while many people surrender, the lack of rehabilitation and prison facilities remains to be a problem. The country&#x27;s largest drug treatment facility has a maximum capacity of 550 patients but is now housing 1,546 people.
