MANILA (UPDATE) —A DNA test has confirmed that the suicide bomber who attacked a military camp in Indanan, Sulu on Sept. 8 was a woman.&quot;Of the 20 specimens recovered from the crime scene, &#x27;yung 13, said to be similar to a female DNA profile. While the 7, said to have partial female DNA profile,&quot; said Police Col. Elimer Catabay, deputy director for operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory.He said some 20 tissue samples were submitted for examination to their DNA laboratory in Davao.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/02/08/19/first-dna-laboratory-in-mindanao-opens-in-davao-city">First DNA laboratory in Mindanao opens in Davao City</a></li></ul>Catabay said they would ask for help from Interpol to crossmatch the DNA from a bigger database to determine if the female suicide bomber was a foreigner.&quot;Puwede nating malaman &#x27;yan kung mayroon tayong (We can find that out if we have a) standard for comparison. For the questioned specimen alone, I think we cannot determine whether this is a foreigner or Filipino. Ang laman ng DNA database natin ay &#x27;yung DNA na na-encode natin galing sa mga arrested suspects, mga nakukuha namin sa crime scenes,&quot; Catabay said.(So far, it&#x27;s negative, there was no match.
