Gretchen Malalad for ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>ABS-CBN’s documentary on the Marawi siege bagged the Gold Dolphin for Best Documentary under the Current Affairs, Human Concerns, and Social Issues Category at the 9th Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards in France.It is the first ever Gold Dolphin for the Philippines.The award was received by documentarians and ABS-CBN correspondents Jeff Canoy and Chiara Zambrano on September 27 in Palm Beach, Cannes, France.Produced by ABS-CBN DocuCentral, &quot;Di Ka Pasisiil&quot; (Never Shall Be Conquered) took audiences deep into the heart of the first largescale ISIS attack in the Philippines and deep into the minds of the Filipino terrorists who helped mount the siege. With chilling and heartbreaking accounts from civilians and soldiers alike, the documentary looked at the Marawi siege from the eyes of the people caught in it. Some 500 guests from all over the world took part in the festivities. The international competition received a record number of entries this year. Over 200 awards were given, including the Best Production Company and Grand Prix for the Best Film.The Gold Dolphin is the latest accolade of &quot;Di Ka Pasisiil&quot;.Last April, the documentary also won the Gold World Medal at the 2018 New York Festivals under the category of Continuing News Coverage. <ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/focus/04/11/18/look-di-ka-pasisiil-wins-gold-world-medal-at-ny-festivals-2018">LOOK: &#x27;Di Ka Pasisiil&#x27; wins Gold World Medal at NY Festivals 2018</a></li></ul>It has also received the Certificate of Creative Excellence from the 2018 US International Film &amp; Video Festival Awards, the Best Documentary award at the Gawad Tanglaw and the PMPC Star Awards.The recognition for Cannes is also the latest in a string of awards that both Canoy and Zambrano also received individually for their Marawi coverage.Canoy won first prize in the English Essay category of the prestigious Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature contest this year for Buhay Pa Kami: Dispatches from Marawi. The same piece also received the honourable mention citation for explanatory writing at the 2018 Society of Publishers in Asia Awards (SOPA).He was also named by the Embassy of Canada and the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility as the Marshall McLuhan Fellow for 2018.In January, Zambrano was selected as one of The Outstanding Young Men and Women of the Philippines (TOYM) for her work in journalism.She is currently in the United Kingdom pursuing a postgraduate degree in Documentary by Practice at Royal Holloway, University of London after receiving the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. In 2013, she was also awarded a Fellowship at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Centre for Journalism.
