MANILA - Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies, and light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over the weekend as the southwest monsoon continues to be enhanced by Tropical Storm Chaba, that will be named Igme as soon as it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

"Western sections of Luzon will experience rains over the weekend as Igme affects the southwest monsoon, while Visayas and Mindanao will experience sunny skies with chances of isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms," weather forecaster Benison Estareja said in an interview on DZMM.

A low pressure area was also spotted 200 kilometers northeast of Aparri, Cagayan but it has low chances of developing into a typhoon, Estareja added.
