‘Queenie’ to exit PAR Friday, no landfall in PH: PAGASA

MANILA - Typhoon Queenie has further intensified but will not make landfall in any part of the Philippines, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.Based on PAGASA&#x27;s track, the typhoon will remain in the Philippine area of responsibility for three more days before it exits Friday, October 5.PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said the trough of the typhoon will, however, dump light to moderate rains over the eastern section of the country and isolated thunderstorms over most parts of the archipelago.In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the eye of the typhoon was last spotted at 1,130 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, Cagayan.The 17th tropical cyclone to enter the country this year, Queenie currently packs maximum sustained winds of 200 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 245 kph.Queenie (international name: Kong-rey) has slightly accelerated and is moving northwest at a speed of 20 kph.
