A senator on Monday disputed claims that Davao City is one of the safest cities in the Philippines, citing statistics from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and inferring that the system in place then did not result to lower crime rates.

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Monday rebutted the statement by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano that Davao City, wherein President Rodrigo Duterte rendered decades of service as mayor, is one of the safest cities in the country.
