MANILA - Ombudsman Samuel Martires said Thursday his office will continue with its investigation concerning former Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson even after her resignation.

Martires said Uson’s resignation has no effect on the ongoing investigation by the Office of the Ombudsman as a result of the complaints filed by Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Akbayan Youth and the Philippine Federation of the Deaf.

“Yes,” Martires said after being asked if the investigations will still proceed.

He also confirmed to reporters that they sent Uson as well as her former boss, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, a letter directing them to submit statements regarding the complaint of the PDF.

The organization of deaf community members and advocates filed affidavit-complaints against Uson regarding her offensive video with fellow blogger Drew Olivar.

"Yes, we issued an order requiring her and Andanar to file comments,” Martires said.

Aside from the PDF complaint, Uson is also facing investigation after Trillanes filed criminal and administrative complaints such as libel while Akbayan Youth asked for her dismissal over fake news allegations.
