More rains expected in Northern Luzon, as Maring nears exit

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="From PAGASA" src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/10/11/20111011-pagasa0.jpg"/><figcaption><em>From PAGASA</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA <strong>(4th UPDATE)</strong>—Severe tropical storm Maring will bring heavy to torrential rains over the northern part of Luzon ahead of leaving the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said Tuesday morning.</p><p>In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said Maring was last located 315 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan as of 10 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with 125 kph gusts while moving westward at 20 kph.</p><p>Strong winds are extending up to 850 kms from the storm&#x27;s center, the weather agency added.</p><p>&quot;Maring&quot; will continue to move westward over the West Philippine Sea and is forecast to leave PAR on Tuesday morning. </p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameBorder="0" height="100%" id="ivsplayer01" scrolling="no" src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/html/iframe-src.html?iframeid=ivsplayer01&amp;key=e8c22c015ca9eafa76f1e3edfa03c603&amp;spid=3001339&amp;vid=1797376" width="100%"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>Tropical cyclone wind signal No. 2 remained hoisted over the following areas, which could experience damaging gale-force to storm-force winds within 24 hours:</p><ul>	<li>Batanes</li>	<li>Cagayan including Babuyan Islands</li>	<li>northern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon, Ilagan City, Tumauini, Cabagan, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quirino, Gamu, Roxas, Mallig, Quezon)</li>	<li>Apayao</li>	<li>Kalinga</li>	<li>Mountain Province</li>	<li>Abra</li>	<li>Ilocos Norte</li>	<li>Ilocos Sur</li></ul><p>TCWS No. 1, which warns of strong winds prevailing within 36 hours, was assigned in:</p><ul>	<li>Rest of Isabela</li>	<li>Nueva Vizcaya</li>	<li>Quirino</li>	<li>Ifugao</li>	<li>Benguet</li>	<li>La Union</li>	<li>Pangasinan</li>	<li>Aurora</li>	<li>Nueva Ecija</li>	<li>Tarlac</li>	<li>Zambales</li>	<li>Pampanga</li>	<li>Bulacan</li>	<li>Northern portion of Bataan (Samal, Morong, Dinalupihan, Abucay, Orani, Hermosa)</li>	<li>Northern portion of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta) including Polillo Islands</li></ul><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="From PAGASA" src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/10/11/20111011-pagasa0x.jpg"/><figcaption><em>From PAGASA</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>PAGASA said heavy to intense rains are likely to fall over Ilocos region, Benguet, Ifugao, Abra, and Mountain Province.</p><p>Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are also expected in Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, and the rest of the Cordilleras, while light to moderate with at times heavy rains are likely over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon.</p><p>It also warned of scattered to widespread flooding, and rain-induced landslides in affected areas.</p><p>Monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon strengthened by Maring could be experienced in Western Visayas, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said. </p><p>It warned of gale-force to storm-force winds in areas under Signal No. 2, while areas under Signal No. 1 may experience strong winds. </p><p>It also said the expansive wind field of Maring and the enhanced southwest monsoon will bring gusty conditions over Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Zamboanga del Norte, and the rest of Luzon in the next 24 hours.</p><p>Gale warning remains in effect for the western seaboard of Central Luzon - excluding areas under tropical cyclone wind signals - the seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and the western, eastern, and northern seaboards of Mindanao.</p><p>&quot;These conditions are risky for those using small seacraft.
