Running under the Liberal Party, Roxas filed his COC before the Commission on Elections office at Intramuros on Tuesday for the 2019 midterm elections.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/10/15/18/after-examination-of-conscience-veteran-mar-roxas-eyes-political-comeback">After examination of conscience, &#x27;veteran&#x27; Mar Roxas eyes political comeback</a></li></ul>The former lawmaker has held various positions in government, a résumé that includes 7 years in the House of Representatives and 6 years in the Senate.He had a chance to run for president in the 2010, but gave way for party-mate Benigno Aquino III, who eventually won.Roxas ran for vice president that year but lost to former Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, although he still held key positions under the Aquino government.For 16 months, Roxas headed the Department of Transportation and Communications before he was appointed interior secretary to replace the late Jesse Robredo. As a member of Aquino&#x27;s Cabinet, Roxas was criticized for his failure to improve the MRT and for his agency&#x27;s relief response in the aftermath of supertyphoon Yolanda in 2013.He also said before in a previous interview that he mulled resignation as interior secretary after police officials kept him out of the loop in the Mamasapano operations that led to the death of 44 policemen.
